New unit at Graham Condos

A pricey 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit at the Graham Condos, at 320 Washington Avenue has recently come on the market at the very 2006-ish price of $889K. Corcoran has the listing.

One added carrot to this unit is that it comes with deeded parking. Still, at 723psf, it may take a lower price to get this deal done.

Of note - it seats 150!

More details on the sneaker spot in Fort Greene

Back in May when we had this post on the new kicks spot on Willoughby, there was no name. Now we know it's called Pedigree, courtesy of the Local, the NY Times blog.

Of note, the owner is the same person who owns the Hideout bar on Adelphi.

Deal of the Day in Fort Greene

Here's a 1,500+ square foot duplex for only $599K on Cumberland between Dekalb and Lafayette. The sponsor is also sweetening the pot by giving the closer $25,000 at closing.

Deal?

It seems the bedroom faces the street and sunlight would be at a premium, but for less than $600K in this section of Fort Greene, this is a serious deal at less than 400psf.

Sufjan Stevens in Prospect Heights

Weird, quirky article on Prospect Heights listening parties for a Sufjan Stevens song, replete with tea.

Judging from the slide show, this guy lives on Dean between Carlton and Vanderbilt.

Will the African American Brooklyn cognoscenti and white hipsters love Habana Outpost after this?

Was Habana Outpost in Fort Greene DOH'd due to live rats or evidence of rats in their kitchen? Well according to this forum post on the esteemed Brownstoner.com, that's the case.

The poster is either an aggrieved friend of a customer who came down with a case of the shits or some competitor looking to bring down his rival.

Sit and Wonder serves Stumptown, but is Stumptown a chump?

Sit and Wonder, on Washington, now serves Stumptown coffee, but it seems there are chinks beginning to show in Stumptown's armor.

To wit, check out these articles on how one writer for the NY Press likens Stumptown to Starbucks. New York Magazine also weighs in on the back of this article.

One interesting point the writer for the NY Press makes is that, even though Stumptown has opened a Red Hook roaster, Stumptown is still importing their beans from Portland.

At left, a definitive list of places in NYC that serve Stumptown. Kudos to the author for having included Sit and Wonder. We made it!

Sit and Wonder - new yuppie coffee spot to open on Washington Avenue

More and more interesting places are opening up on Washington Avenue. As blogged recently, Washington was featured prominently in New York Magazine's bar crawls article.

Today, a thread on brooklyian heralds Sit and Wonder, a new coffee bar in what used to be the Natural Heights space. Other news sources include Time Out. The piece de resistance? They will be serving Stumptown coffee! Coffee will start at only $1, which is a welcome pricepoint in this day and age.

Incidentally, the space is also from the owners of Bittersweet on Dekalb. This is one of our favorite coffee places in Fort Greene, definitely a winner over that snooty French place and Tillie's.

Vanderbilt Avenue - pedestrian walkway

An interesting concept - every Sunday in June between 12PM and 5PM, Vanderbilt Avenue will be transformed from Dean Street to Park Place. This ain't no street fair, though. There will be opportunities to "shop, stroll and socialize. There will be music, art and gardening, face painting, sun and trees, eating and relaxing, biking and performances, people watching - and whatever else you might like to do. Plus a few surprises."

Found on brooklynian.
