Winey Neighbor now open at 679 Washington

A new wine store has opened up on the recently-revived strip of Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights. Named the 'Winey Neighbour,' this store features a wine label on every bottle that not only suggest food pairings, but music pairings.

Being a fan of rieslings myself, I've attached a label for a riesling at left. Riesling and Bob Marley, I can definitely live with that.

An opening party is scheduled for January 21; I plan to be there.

Corcoran called to the carpet on ethics

Brownstoner.com tells the story today of a 25 year old buyer who feels misled by corcoran.com. Like most young tech-savvy kids today, he has taken to the blogosphere to air his grievances.

brooklyn heights blog also has an article
on it.

The aggrieved himself has set up a website, most likely out to destroy corcoran if he could. In it, he describes how the ostensible broker who misled him, Merele Williams-Adkins called in her husband as muscle.

David Huber 1, corcoran 0, Merele 0.

Townhouse right off Vanderbilt

Corcoran has the listing for 678 Dean Street, a two-family brownstone asking $999K. The listing says to bring your architect, which means it's in very poor condition.

A good opportunity for someone with vision to live next to one of the liveliest Brooklyn streets in recent times.

Chuko Ramen opens up on Vanderbilt

At left, courtesy of Patch, is a picture of the new Chuko ramen restaurant on Vanderbilt and Dean.

NB: We were mistaken when we reported that this restaurant would be at the corner of Dean and Underhill. That begs the question -- what will this corner hold??
